This original one-of-a-kind drawing is an out of series double number from the series called “Eye Balls” by Bhak Jolicoeur.
This drawing is my experience of Adrienne on the evening we spent together having dinner in Queen Elizabeth Park, at the Mani-Pedi, the Shameful Tiki, and the rest of the night. It was open and trusting, and liberating. It was a special experience.
The drawing started with the eye from imagination, without reference, and evolved to the right as I thought about how I felt, and my experience of her. As the drawing evolved it remined me of a leaf, with the stem being the point to the left of the eye. It captures a beautiful essence of my experience of her throughout the night. I drew this on set while working props for the tv show “Superman & Lois”. It progressed very quickly while I waited between takes for my business. We were at a location in South Burnaby filming the “Hobbs Bay Medical” scenes where Lois breaks into a doctors office to find files and is confronted by Bruno Manheim. As the drawing progressed with the billowing to the right, I showed it to the actor Wolé Parks who was on set shadowing the Director (David Ramsey). Wolé gave me some good feedback about how he likes the water drops on my other drawings. After adding them, they became representative of a very intimate sense of letting go and trusting. It’s a very beautiful and very special image for me. I love it.
This image and series are an exploration of abstract surrealism in the form of Stream of Consciousness Art.
Stream of Consciousness Art is a process that lets the image evolve from the experience of a person or place, capturing the essence of that experience through the abstraction of the process, through surrealism, hyperrealism, and other variations of theme.

This original one-of-a-kind drawing is an out of series double number from the series called “Eye Balls” by Bhak Jolicoeur.
This drawing is based on reference photo’s of Firouzeh’s left eye. The three circles to the right of her eye represent her three children. The largest circle is Hudson. The pair represents the twins, Blake and Preston. The number is intentionally a double number to represent its custom nature. It is her birth year.
The image started with a somewhat hyperreal adaptation of her left eye, then evolved to the right of the eye. In my initial visualisation of the image, before drawing in the three circles, I imagined a fish swimming to the left with a trailing tail to the right. As I added the circles, the creature started looking like a horse or dragon looking to the right. After seeing this I erased a small “fin like” protrusion to the right of the “nose” of this water dragon. The photo of her eye was taken on a special night when we brought closure to a lovely aspect of our friendship with kindness and love.
We will always have the barge on the beach.
